Mamula
The natural landmark rock "Mamulya" (also Mamulia) is just next to the hotel. The rock is nominated as a landmark due to its unconventional form.
Caves
Around the hotel there are two caves - Orlova Chuka and Pismata.
The cave Orlova Chuka is located near the village of Pepelina and has the status of natural landmark. The cave is named after the rock garland at the entrance of the cave which was a shelter for eagles in the past - the cave's name can be translated as Eagle's rock. The cave is discovered accidentally in the first half of the 20th century and until now about 13 km of galleries are discovered and charted which makes the cave the second longest in Bulgaria. Besides beautiful rocks and pellucid ponds the cave is inhabited from over 10 000 bats. At the disposal of the cave's visitors is a tourist guide.
The cave Pismata is locate near the village of Koshov.
Ancient town of Cherven
The fortified town dates from the 12th - 14th century. The town is build on a hard to reach rocky plateau, surrounded by the river Cherni Lom. The town is encircled by a wall with towers. The ancient town is archeological preserve and a popular tourist destination.
The rock-hewn churches of Ivanovo
Close to the village of Ivanovo, in a beautiful rock canyon along the river of Rusenski Lom, are located the rock-hewn churches of Ivanovo (also called Rock-hewn monastery of Ivanovo). In the 13th - 14th century the churches were inhabited by hermits and monks. The monastery's premises were hewn in the rocks, at a 30 meter height. The cells of the monastery are covered in religious paintings. The Ivanovo rock-hewn churches are part of the United Nations' program for World Heritage.
The Basarbovo rock-hewn monastery
The Basarbovo rock-hewn monastery is located about 15 km away from Ruse. Similar to the Ivanovo rock-hewn churches, the monastery is hewn in a rock and covered in wall-paintings. The saint after whom the monastery is named - st. Dimiter Basarbovski - is the protector of the city of Bucharest and his remains are kept in a cathedral in Bucharest.
